UTMB tests Pfizer vaccine on South African COVID-19 variant

Researchers are now testing the blood of patients who have been immunized with new strains of Covid-19 to test the effectiveness of it. They are so far finding a reduction in neutralizing activity by up to three-fold, but there is still quite a bit of protection for those who get the vaccine versus someone who does not.

Researchers called the reduction modest and would still say that there is a big cushion for those with the vaccine. Thankfully the vaccine will still trigger the immune response for the body to begin creating antibodies.
