About Houston Hospice Care

Hospice is specialized care provided to patients with an advanced, life-limiting illness or injury. A team of healthcare professionals focuses on caring and providing palliative measures, not curing, and delivers care that supports the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs of patients and their families. In most cases, hospice care is provided in the patient’s home, but can also be provided in hospitals, nursing homes, other long-term care facilities and freestanding hospice centers. Hospice services are available to patients of any age, religion, race, or illness. Hospice care is covered under Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance plans, HMOs, and other managed care organizations.
